From September 19 to 28, 2025, San Vito Lo Capo will once again host the Cous Cous Fest, the international event that, for nearly thirty years, has celebrated multiculturalism through one of the world’s simplest and oldest dishes: cous cous.
But the Cous Cous Fest is not just a food festival. It’s a message. It’s an invitation to build bridges between cultures, gathering around a common table and speaking the universal language of food.
🌍 A bit of history: How did Cous Cous Fest begin?
The festival was born in 1998 from a simple but powerful idea: to bring together the peoples of the Mediterranean – and beyond – through a shared dish. Since then, San Vito Lo Capo has become, every year, a magnet for chefs, travelers, and curious food lovers, all drawn by the aroma of spices and the spirit of community.
Cous cous doesn’t belong to one single country. You’ll find it in Morocco, Algeria, Libya, Tunisia, France… and of course in Sicily, where it has become a signature of traditional Trapani cuisine.
🍽️ What to expect in 2025?
The 2025 edition promises to be rich, colorful, and full of flavor. Here’s what’s on the menu:
- Cous Cous World Championship: chefs from around the globe will compete with creative and unique dishes.
- Tastings and cooking shows: from traditional to vegetarian, fusion, and even sweet cous cous recipes.
- Live music and performances: free concerts every evening with Italian and international guests.
- Workshops, talks, and street food: for those who love to learn, experiment, and taste everything.
All of this… just steps away from the sea.
✨ A unique experience to live (and share)
Cous Cous Fest is more than an event – it’s a multi-sensory experience. It’s the scent of cinnamon blending with garlic. It’s the sound of different languages mixing in the narrow streets. It’s watching the sunset over the sea after a meal shared with strangers who suddenly feel like friends.
